A garter snake in our lightwell!
Alex and I were working from home today because of the holiday. We heard the front doorbell (which is weird, because we have a sign on it saying "please don't ring the doorbell.")
Alex went downstairs and saw Ana (our nanny) freaking out in Spanish about a snake in the lightwell so I ran downstairs and found this little garter snake.
Scooped him into a bag and dropped him into my NEIGHBORS yard... heh heh heh.

Look who's talking, too!
Tonight at dinner, Sidney was making himself very well understood.
"Abwa" (agua) he said, pointing at Nathan's water glass.
"He's talking," said Nathan. It was great that Nathan was taking an interest, and was excited.
I was starting to feed Sidney another mouthful of food and said, "Do you want more? Mas?"
"Up!" said Sidney. It turns out that "up" in Sidney-speak means "more" because he repeated it everytime I said, "Mas?" "Up! up! up!"

First steps
After a couple of days of just standing by himself, not holding on to anything, Sidney took his first 3 steps...

"Let's drive to Mexico"
From the overjoyed stream of consciousness dept:
"The elephant and giraffe are here. We're going to Mexico!"
"We're going fast!"
"I can do like this... I can push the buttons."

Its good to be home!
Back a little early from a great trip to LA for a conference.
Happy to be home for my wife's birthday dinner, and to see my kids before they have to go to sleep.

Its the same-est
The fire truck in the puzzle is the same as the one Nathan received on Sidney's birthday.
Nathan ran in screaming, "it's the same-est! it's the same-est!!"
