Papa's car is a ... car?
For the past three or four months, our cars have been everything BUT cars.
"Papa's car is a train."
"Mama's car is a bus."
"Papa's car is a fire truck."
This morning when I put Nathan into the car and we started to drive off, he pointed out a big MUNI bus. "Is Papa's car a bus?" I asked, looking forward to a long discussion about the benefits of bus-ness.
Nathan looked at me and calmly replied, "No, Papa's car is just a car."

"Nathan, what did you do over February vacation?"
The answer surprised us. Great imagination.
"I got a parrot and I took a big, big airplane. I flew to Mami and Papi's house. We played at Mami's house."

Stupid?
Nathan had a replacement teacher today. He was not happy about going to pool in general and about getting a new teacher in particular. The start was hard but he got in the water and all went fine.
Me: "Nathan, you did really well today. Your teacher seemed very nice" (he hugged her at the end of the class)
Nathan: "Yes, but she's stupid"
Me: "No, Nathan, teachers are not stupid!" (what else can I say, they are not ALL stupid, only some are ;-)
Nathan: "Ok, teachers are just a liiiittle bit stupid"
Who knows where he got that from? We are onto a great start, aren't we?

Chercher la chance!
I made a bubble bath for the kids.
Nathan felt lucky.
He exclaimed, "chercher la chance!" (J'ai de la chance = I'm lucky)
