The mathemetician

Sidney

The increase in Sidney's vocabulary has been amazing the last week. I left for three days, I come home and his comprehension and his desire to speak has just exploded!

I should have gone away earlier... (jk)

It's really cool to see Sidney get excited by his newfound ability to communicate as well. He is definitely aware of his own progress and is really having fun with us, and his big brother Nathan.

The security tunnel @ LAX

For a trip I took for work, the agency our company used scheduled me on connecting flights (1h 30m layover) in TWO DIFFERENT TERMINALS.

I had to transfer from the United terminal at LAX to the Delta terminal, and was freaking out that I would have to go back through security and miss my plane… I had been in a pissy mood all day because of my worry. I had called both United AND Delta to ask them if there was any tunnel to get me through without hitting security.

When I got to the airport I asked the security guards and they told me to “walk all the way back past the Ruby Tuesday’s and find the stairway down and you’ll see a secure tunnel to the other terminal.”

I was in heaven.

"All done"

Tonight after a few bites of dinner, Sidney surprised us with a 1-2 punch.

"I'm done" he said. Followed immediately by night night.

Overhead

Nathan (to Papa): "Are you doozie?" (big grin)

...not "...are you A doozie..." but simply "are you DOOZIE?"

I have no idea what it means.

But I randomly respond either "yes," or "no."

Overheard

Nathan did some art today. He and I were talking about it before he went to bed.

"Nathan," I said. "Do you want to be an artist when you grow up?"

"No," Nathan replied.

I continued three more times. "Do you want to be an astronaut? A Fireman? A Teacher?"

"No" he responded, simply, each time.

"Nathan, would you like to be in Marketing when you grow up?"

Nathan produced a confused look and a large grin as he responded, "no."

In the same breath, he enthusiastically continued "I want to be a WOLF! But not a mean wolf. I'll be a nice wolf. And I won't scare the girls. When I'm bigger. "

Splashies!!!

La souris

We found une petite souris in our cave... and somehow managed to catch it in a box. Sidney and Nathan both got to meet the cute little guy, and then we talked a little about them.

Apparently they like crackers and strawberry cheese.

Too much singing = falling asleep at lunch

Sidney had a great morning. Read a lot. Sang a lot. Now, he's eaten a lot. And he's tired.

Taking some portraits of the kids at the conservatory of flowers

Beautiful day... Beautiful kids! ...if they would only stand still for a
minute...

Sunrise Sunset

Two videos. Sidney LOVES this book (and the song).

Wowwy!
